A quietly elegant designer wall light, originally $720, now $99 — one piece only

Italian-designed, made in northern Italy, this 900mm wall light has the kind of quiet confidence that good design tends to have: clean architecture, beautifully made glass, and warm diffused light. It's a horizontal piece — long enough to sit above a console, alongside a mirror, or as a feature on a wall that needs something architectural rather than ornamental.

The diffuser is silk-screened glass, with brushed nickel decorative elements at each end. The frame is glossy white-coated metal. It's a discontinued size and we're unlikely to see another come through. At $99 it's a genuine find for the right space — a hallway, study, or guest bedroom that would be lifted by a properly considered light.

Worth knowing before you buy

This light uses a 2G11 fluorescent tube — an older bulb format that's still available through specialist suppliers in New Zealand but harder to find than mainstream LED replacements.
