Lighthouse Lighting was founded in Christchurch in 1996. We've spent nearly three decades helping New Zealanders light their homes — through new builds, full renovations, and the small projects that change how a room feels.

We curate lighting from the designers we believe in: premium European brands, including Italian and Spanish ranges most New Zealand stores can't access, alongside lighting from talented local makers we've stocked for years. Every fitting we sell has been chosen because it earns its place — for design, build quality, or what it does to a room when it's switched on.

This site currently shows clearance pricing on stock from our showroom era, alongside an ongoing curated range. The discounted lines are genuine — last-available pieces and ex-display models we're moving on as we transition to a leaner, more selective offering going forward.

    Our European supplier relationships give us access to Italian and Spanish lighting that simply isn't available through other New Zealand retailers.

    We don't just sell fixtures — we plan how a space will be lit. Our team works with homeowners directly and alongside architects, interior designers, electricians, and builders to deliver lighting that integrates with the rest of a project rather than fighting it.

  • Quality and design we'd put in our own homes.

    We don't stock anything we wouldn't be comfortable specifying for a project. That filter has held since 1996 and it's why our customers come back for their next renovation.

How we work with you

Whether you're shopping for a single statement pendant or planning lighting across an entire build, we can help.

For a full lighting design, our process includes:

  • Initial consultation — in person at Accent Lighting in Christchurch, or by phone or video for customers further afield
  • Draft lighting plan with luminaire layout
  • Detailed specification and quote
  • Review meeting to walk through fittings, plan, budget, and timeframe
  • On-site consultation and installation guidance where needed

Lighting is a considered purchase. We want you to get it right the first time, so we offer plenty of ways to be sure before you buy:

A note: items shipped direct from our European suppliers (some Spanish-designed ranges) aren't held in stock and may not be on display. If you've seen something specific on the website you'd like to view in person, give us a call before visiting — we'll let you know what's there.


If you're spending serious money on a fixture, we want to make sure it's the right one. Reach out before you order, not after — we'd much rather help you choose well than process a return.
