iO Flute Wood Pendant Light

A handmade single plywood pendant, crafted in New Zealand by Mat MacMillan in Tauranga.

The iO Flute is a tall fluted column shade — 420mm high, 140mm diameter — designed to throw soft layered shadows when lit, and to read as a quiet sculptural element when off. Sized for over a dining table, alongside a bedside, or in any space where a single tall pendant earns its place.

Like the rest of the iO family, the Flute is built from plywood with a Japanese Shoji paper diffuser inside. The paper warms and softens the light. It can be removed if you prefer a sharper, more directional beam.

This is a made-to-order piece, not stock. Choose:

• Shade finish — natural plywood, or with black tips for a more graphic contrast (a $38 premium reflecting the additional finishing work)

Allow 6-8 weeks from order to dispatch.

If you're planning a cluster of three flutes, two paths to choose from:

• Buy this product × 3 plus a 3-outlet ceiling plate and three cords from Lighting Accessories — flexible if you want to mix Natural Ply and Black Tips finishes within the same cluster, or vary the drop heights
• Buy the iO 3 Flute Cluster — a pre-configured three-flute installation on a single 350mm ceiling plate, with all hardware included. More expensive overall but turnkey
