iO 3 Flute Cluster Pendant Light

A handmade plywood pendant cluster, crafted in New Zealand by Mat MacMillan in Tauranga.

Three iO Flute shades suspended from a single 350mm ceiling plate — sculptural enough to be the centrepiece of a dining room, kitchen island, or stairwell, but quiet enough not to demand the room be designed around it.

The flutes are crafted from plywood, fluted vertically to throw soft, layered shadows when lit. Each is fitted with a Japanese Shoji paper diffuser that warms the light and softens the edges of the beam — and which can be removed if you prefer a sharper, more directional light. It's a small choice but it changes the room.

This is a made-to-order piece, not stock. Mat builds each cluster to your specification once you order, which means you choose:

• Flute finish — natural plywood, or with black tips for a more graphic contrast
• Suspension hardware — textile cord, lamp holders, and ceiling plate in either black or white to match your ceiling

Allow 6-8 weeks from order to dispatch.
